82nd Airborne gone again

I am going to rant here little bit. Once again we are sending our troops out to defend our freedom but unlike the usual ship outs this one effected me majorly. Why? Because my boyfriend is apart of the battalion that left. Having friends and family in the military it isn't easy to see them off but this one was very hard. There was so many more people on post for the send off then usual. Lt. Col. David Vandevander, commander of the 82nd Special Troops Battalion said "well-prepared, combat-ready paratroopers.” Yes this is somewhat reassuring but at the same time how would you feel if someone you loved was jumping out of a plane at 30,000 some what feet? It is freaking terrifying!! Plus the fact that there is little communication for that 9 months. Yes granted there is more means of communication now then there used to be. Lt. Col. David Vandevander also say that they are "the most highly trained postal unit ever deployed." It killed me seeing him board that buss and leave to catch their flight in Baltimore. Going into the relationship I always knew that this time would come and it finally did.
